Overview:

Provide oversight and strategic direction for clinical pharmacy and utilization practices across the ministry to meet clinical, quality, financial, regulatory and operational goals. Collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, physicians and leadership to develop, maintain and monitor Mercy's Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and medication formulary processes. Supports medication stewardship, pharmacy contract compliance while supporting consistent pharmacy operating procedures and practices across the Ministry. Coordinates medication content for care paths, order sets and preferred medications for Mercy. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, vision, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education/training: Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD); and preferred successful completion of a minimum of 1 post-graduate year or 2 post-graduate residency training.
  • Licensure: Registered to practice Pharmacy in Missouri.
  • Preferred Experience: Demonstrated experience/knowledge of pharmacy supply chain functions such as Hospital, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and/or Pharmacy Wholesale Distribution. Experience leading teams through change-management and consensus-building
  • Certification/Registration: Board Certification and Board Certifications specializations is strongly preferred.
  • Other skills & knowledge: (skills, knowledge, abilities)
    • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
    • Superior analytical and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of coworkers, providing leadership, influence and problem resolution.
    • Strong professional public relation skills at all levels and ability to effectively present complex solutions to all levels of clinical and non-clinical personnel.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and with diverse groups of both clinical and non-clinical personnel.
    • Strong computer literacy/savvy.
    • Negotiation skills and experience with products & services
    • Ability to analyze complex operational and financial scenarios to render solutions that meet the customers desired outcomes.
    • Possible ability to travel 20% of the time
