The Director, Benefits will play an integral role in the success of the Human Resources group at Anthology. This person will manage Anthology’s global employee benefit programs including health and welfare and retirement plans.

The Director, Benefits will play an integral role in the success of the Human Resources group at Anthology. This person will manage Anthology’s global employee benefit programs including health and welfare and retirement plans.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Planning, strategy development, and overall management of global benefit programs, including a communication strategy for creating benefits awareness
- Managing global benefits department budget
- Managing benefits team (three reports)
- Managing relationships with benefit broker/consultants and insurance carriers and acts as liaison to obtain and negotiate renewals, settlements, claims and utilization data and enrollment information
- Coordinating human resources policies and procedures such as COBRA, FMLA, short- and long-term disability insurance, medical and life insurance and 401(k) Plan
- Managing annual enrollment processes. Arranging for distribution of materials from carriers, assisting with, communicating changes to employees and arranging on-site representation by providers, conducting employee presentations and processing changes within deadlines
- Processing monthly billings from insurance providers. Reviewing billings for accuracy and submitting for payment. Resolving discrepancies with carriers, payroll, and the company
- Developing and documenting procedures to streamline processes and ensure benefit plans are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations such as ERISA, IRS, and DOL, and working with HR team to educate Managers on all benefits-related programs
- Filing annual compliance paperwork such as 5500’s, SAR’s and SPD’s
The Candidate: Required skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of related, progressive Human Resources experience with at least 2-3 years of management experience
- Experience in managing benefit plans in multiple countries
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions
- Strong process management skills
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills, written and oral communication skills, customer consultation and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency with Excel and benefits modules of HR systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources
