Partnerships for People, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join in the mission of partnering with people with disabilities to help build relationships and develop skills to live and work as valued members of their community.

The Direct Support Professional delivers essential services as prescribed through approved essential life plans or individual habilitation plans for individuals Partnerships for People, Inc has been contracted to serve. This title has two essential levels of direct support.

Under the direction of the Direct Support Manager, the Direct Support Professional will work closely with the individual support team from a team approach. The Direct Support Professional will serve people with developmental disabilities and empower individuals through personal choice, with a focus on teaching community and residential living skills. The Direct Support Professional will support the Agency's belief regarding empowerment, quality of life, freedom of choice and community integration for all individuals.

The Direct Support Professional must comply with all policies, regulations and requirements which govern the services Partnerships for People, Inc. delivers through the grant received through the N.J. Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities.

Job Details:

  • Non-exempt, hourly position, standard biweekly salaries throughout the year

Open Shifts:

  • Saturday & Sunday, 9am - 3pm
  • Saturday & Sunday, 3pm - 11pm

Minimum Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
  • Successfully completion of pre-employment process, including Background check and FBI clearances, MVR, Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) and Drug Testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience serving people with developmental disabilities
