$13.50 to $15.50 hr.

The job of a Direct Support Professional is a rewarding one, involving supporting people with physically and/or intellectual disabilities in community activities and teaching daily living skills. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assist residents in our Sewickley campus homes with personal hygiene, meals, and transport. Shift differentials and FT Enhanced wage option are available. Valid Driver's License required.
Essential responsibilities
- Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
- Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes.
- Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
- Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
- Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles

Required Experience:
- New hire will receive training in all functions of residential care, including CPR, AED and First Aid. Patient care experience is a plus, including care of family members
- This position requires ability to lift 50 pounds independently, see, hear, stand, bend, walk, push, climb, and reach.
- Employee must be 18 years old or older, MUST maintain a valid driver's license, and successfully complete a physical, drug test, and all clearances.
- Ability to comprehend regulations, speak and provide written documentation in an understandable manner is required.
- HS diploma or GED preferred
