The Digital Marketing Coordinator works as a part of the Development team and helps to uncover the critical funds necessary to transform lives at The Bowery Mission. Through our Faith-based model, we seek not only to meet immediate needs, but to have a long-term impact on the men, women, and children who come to us. As a key member of The Bowery Mission, the Digital Marketing Coordinator is an essential team member and will support the Associate Director, Digital Marketing to help drive constituent awareness, acquisition, cultivation, and fundraising. The primary focus will be on audience/community building, cultivation, and management through peer-to-peer (P2P) and social media.
Reports to: Associate Director, Digital Marketing
The Digital Marketing Coordinator's responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assist in developing a plan for the community (including donors, volunteers, guests/clients – prospects and active) and fundraiser relations via Digital channels, to enhance the constituent experience and facilitate leads for The Bowery Mission’s teams and programs. This will include:
- Researching and prioritizing best practices to create a sustainable process for engagement
- Retrieving, analyzing, and routing inbound messages
- Helping draft FAQs and responses
- Communicating with both internal and external parties regularly
- Social Media:
- Help manage all social media inboxes
- Gather benchmarks for social media performance
- Help analyze reports to determine what resonates with constituents; develop action steps for program improvement
- Coordinate with Brand Marketing and Communications team on content and leveraging opportunities
- Draft creative for social media
- Help build engagement with the goal of warming prospects (to work in conjunction with paid media)
- Peer-to-Peer:
- Research and present findings/recommendations for peer-to-peer fundraising
- Assist in implementation and tracking, including reporting and monitoring benchmark metrics
- Help identify and resolve gaps in the P2P fundraising process: Monitor fundraiser activity; initiate and maintain welcoming and supportive correspondence; provide customer service as needed. Goal of increasing fundraisers, fundraisers’ conversions/donations, and overall fundraiser success.
- Campaign and content planning:
- Help brainstorm new ideas across our channels
- Selecting photos for projects (email, web, social)
- Review other organization’s websites, ads, social media, etc for trends/best practices
- Digital asset management (using Photoshelter). Uploading, organizing, and applying keywords to files.
- Assist with administrative tasks as assigned, including but not limited to overseeing email@bowery.org inbox and helping with database hygiene.
Qualifications and Education:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Understands the organization’s Statement of Faith and adheres to the Code of Conduct
- Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related fields
- Two years+ experience in digital marketing
- High integrity that builds trust with internal and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of marketing, websites, and email development
- Proven experience with the development and maintenance of social media programs and/or online profiles for organizations (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Business Listings, Yelp, etc.), including reporting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail, especially for drafting copy
- Self-starter with excellent time management and project management skills, flexibility, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Eager to learn, collaborate, and grow
Preferred
- Experience with customer service
- Experience with reporting and analyzing website performance (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Experience with developing campaign content (e.g., blogging, social media posts)
