As a full-time member of the headquarters-based Community Relations and Development Department, the Digital Communications Specialist supports The Salvation Army's communications, marketing, and fundraising initiatives. The Digital Communications Specialist provides administrative and logistical support across all communications projects and collaborates with the team to make an impact on the department's everyday success while working towards team goals.

- Work in partnership with the Territory Web Specialist Team to maintain the ongoing upkeep of the Divisional webpage and each individual Corps Community Center, Service Extension and other Operating Unit
- Under the direction of the Community Relations and Development Department, coordinate digital aspects of special events/fundraising campaigns throughout the year and provide reports as needed.
- Serve as the lead digital asset manager for the Division, including orienting and supporting Divisional use of theWebManager.
- In collaboration with the Graphic Designer, develop best practices for Salvation Army users of WebManager- including captioning, keywording, and organizing content.
- Assist with capturing, editing, and sourcing internal video and photo content.
- Support in the collection and analysis of digital metrics for electronic communications.
- Assist with preparing the monthly social media calendar by gathering assets for Divisional and social media channels, in collaboration with Public Relations and Marketing Consultant, and posting social media content.
- Assist with Field email inquiries, including website, social media and mailing inquiries, and escalate to the appropriate team members; take the lead on website inquiries.
- Review documents, presentations and spreadsheets for executive leadership team, staff, as needed to ensure adherence to The Salvation Army standards.
- Liaise with communications team members and other colleagues across the Division to ensure proper management of all communications initiatives.
- Support in conducting mailings, follow-up, database updates, invitations and timely acknowledgements in cooperation with the Divisional Database Team.
- Perform other tasks as needed, are appropriate, and assigned.
- Minimum BS or BA degree, in relevant field such as Communications, Digital Communications, Marketing, or Website Design and a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to relate effectively, reliably and professionally with corporate professionals and others.
- Must be able to effectively multitask with deadlines and follow through consistently and strategically.
- Must be well-organized, proactive, able to work independently and follow-up accordingly.
- Must be computer proficient with website development experience, able to use email easily and effectively, Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite and donor and volunteer management software.
- Experience with or willingness to learn best practices in Digital Fundraising campaigns.
- Experience with Adobe Design Suite or similar design software preferred.
- Must demonstrate good judgement, leadership characteristics and work well as part of a team. Able to work effectively and in harmony with officers, staff, and volunteers.
- Must have a valid ID and be willing to travel as needed, flexible on scheduling (including attendance at early morning, evening or weekend meetings/events).
- Adherence to the AFP Code of Ethics.
- Adherence to The Salvation Army's Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years.
- Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
- Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
