ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.____ Provides nutrition support for outpatient KCH oncology services: education regarding dietary complications resulting from treatment, meal planning, and development of individual education material. Nutritional counseling for patients with other health conditions, for example diabetes. Nutritional counseling for patients with special feeding issues, for example; temporary and permanent feeding tubes.
2.____ Works with Customer Service Supervisor to address billing issues.
3.____ Acts as a resource to oncology staff and actively participates in meetings and committees for the Cancer Center. Provides cancer nutrition education to the community on request.4.____ Participants in community health fairs/events.
5.____ Works in conjunction with the Cancer Center staff to address community
needs and to market Nutrition Services to those specific populations.
6.___ Contributes to Performance Improvement activities at Kosciusko Community Hospital as
requested.
7.____Demonstrates age appropriate competency skills and knowledge, displays ability to perform
skills specific to patient population identified in unit specific skill list:

Oncology Dietitian or Nutritionist
- Becomes involved with professional organizations that promote wellness.
- The associate will hold in confidence all patient information communicated or stored using any
medium including oral communication. The associate will also seek to protect patient information
from inadvertent use or disclosure by adhering to hospital and CHS Code of Conduct policies.
- Other duties and responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains a clean and safe environment for clients and visitors.
- Follows departmental dress code.
- Observes safety and hygiene rules and regulations.
- Communicates with other hospitals and health organizations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Formal Training Required:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with successful completion of internship is recommended or equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
One to three years of experience in dietetics and or nutritional counseling, with an emphasis on oncology support.
Licensure Required:
Must be registered/licensed in the state of Indiana if a registered dietician.
Maintain BLS certification

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, corporate clients, and team members.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to contagious disease through contact with patients.
