Job Description
Pool position based out of St. Mary Medical Center.Dietary Aide to assemble and serve meals in accordance with department standards. Complete daily responsibilities that may include meal assembly, cold food preparation, utility and dish room functions, nourishment preparation, sanitation duties and tray passing.Assembles meals accurately according to menu selection and diet using proper portion control guidelines.Ready to begin meal service at the proper time.Ensures maintenance of proper food temperature throughout all phases of food handling and on trayline.Covers, labels, dates and stores all leftovers promptly in accordance with DOH & HACCP guidelines.Prepares between meals snacks and nourishment , as assigned.Prepares modified liquid beverages and cold products as assigned.Maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.Cleans assigned workstation after each meal period.Completes assigned cleaning projects in a timely manner.Cleans and sanitizes all food equipment, food contact surfaces and food delivery carts.Makes deliveries to the proper location at patient mealtimes, including taking meals to patients who have been transferred.When serving a meal, verifies patient’s menu to patient’s name. Greets patients in a friendly and courteous manner.Completes food service requisitions as required.Retrieves soiled trays from nursing units and replaces with a clean one.Delivers between meal room service trays in a timely manner.Utilizing spoons, ladles, tongs or other utensils to portion food in accordance with department production guidelines.Prepares food according to daily menu and production sheets, including salads, sandwiches and desserts.Communicates food run outs during meals.Prepare HS snicks, sorts labels and accurately puts items together in a timely manner.Assists in dish room, follow proper warewashing procedures.Follows all department recipes for food production to ensure correct and consistent product.Adheres to food service handlers’ regulations by wearing clean uniforms, gloves and hat/hairnets while working with food and food equipment.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications: High School Diploma preferredTrinity Health's Commitment to Diversity and InclusionTrinity Health employs about 133,000 colleagues at dozens of hospitals and hundreds of health centers in 22 states.
