Job Description
Overview:Located in Northwest Arkansas
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for the performance of high quality ultrasound studies related to high-risk obstetrical ultrasound imaging for all Institute for Digital Health and Innovation (IDHI) sites across the state of Arkansas. They will aid in the overall diagnosis and high quality care of the mother and fetus. This position requires the sonographer to join alongside the academic achievement of students, residents and fellows.

Salary offered commensurate with experience.Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed first trimester OB ultrasound imaging
  • Perform first trimester screening and nuchal translucency ultrasound.
  • Perform general and high-risk targeted 2nd and 3rd trimester OB ultrasound imaging; Singleton and multiple gestation pregnancies
  • Perform Gyn ultrasound studies (transabdominal and transvaginal)
  • Obtains, reviews, and integrates pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimal diagnostic results.
  • Identify aneuploidy markers and fetal anomalies, and make independent MFM defined protocol decisions based on the findings. Inform Perinatologist of findings when necessary.
  • Assists in procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling guidance
  • Middle Cerebral Artery, Umbilical Artery and Ductus Venous Ultrasounds
  • 3D/4D imaging and manipulation
  • Perform quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensure patient cooperation, safety and satisfaction.
  • Maintains sonographic and other equipment in efficient operating order; assists with preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Must have the ability to work well with others, acts as a team member. Ability to work independently and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care.
  • Provides accurate room preparation and instructions to patient / family according to the procedure and physically prepares patient for examination, which includes explaining the imaging procedure and answers pertinent procedural questions and provides patient education related to ultrasound procedure.
  • Participates in various teaching and/or learning opportunities in order to further his/her own personal knowledge and to assist in expanding the knowledge of others.
  • Provide outreach to new and past sites through site assessments.
  • Complete sonography assessments and competencies.
  • Ensure images from community sites integrate into viewpoint system in a timely manner.
  • Provide ongoing support to Sonographer staff: one on one sonographer training and consults as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • ARDMS registered or registry eligible
  • First Advanced Certification by the ARDMS must be obtained within 12 months from date of hire.
  • Second Advanced Certification by the ARDMS must be obtained within 24 months of date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate degree
  • One (1) or more years of experience
  • Advanced Certification by the ARDMS
  • Experience in OB ultrasound or Perinatal Sonography is required
