Position Summary
Provides leadership and direction for diabetes education across ambulatory care groups. Manages department operations, team members and cost center. Responsibilities include staffing, planning, implementing and evaluating department activities in accordance with the mission and vision of the organization.
Education/Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or dietetics
- RN or RD licensure in Minnesota.
- If RD, has credential verification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition; Masters desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
- Current certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Educator (CDCES)
- 3 years clinical diabetes patient care experience plus minimum 3 years’ experience managing chronic disease, facilitating behavior change and/or program management
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of local and national diabetes resources
- Familiar with ADCES program accreditation process (DEAP)
- Membership in American Diabetes Association or American Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists is required; if not current, will need to join upon hire.

- Proven management skills with the ability to lead, prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and budget parameters.
- Excellent communication skills.
