Job Description
The Development Operations Engineer will support a family of new system interfaces providing access to one of the largest administrative claims databases in the world. In support of the first Data-as-a-Service interoperability solution ever designed for our instantly recognizable client, you will provide DevOps for technologies that may include GraphQL, REST, JSON, Docker, Kubernetes, and many others. Your experience and good judgement will be invaluable as you help our team execute the tools and processes that bridge the gap between Development and Operations teams.
Candidate should be able to work in fast-paced multi-disciplinary environments. A professional at this position level within Optum has the following responsibilities: Adapts existing methods and procedures to create possible alternative solutions to moderately complex problems. Understands the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals. Uses considerable judgment to determine solution and seeks guidance on complex problems.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support SAFe DevSecOps process and methodology in a large federal IT program
- Design, set up, monitor, and enhance a Continuous Delivery pipeline
- Build infrastructure as code in an AWS environment
- Support and work closely with both engineers & stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience with implementation of Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and/or DevOps solutions or architecture patterns
- 3+ years of experience with code repository management, commit and build, code merge and quality checks, continuous integration through pipeline creation, and automated deployment and management using AWS DevOps, Jenkins, Git, Maven, Ant, SonarQube or comparable tools.
- 3+ years of experience with scripting using Linux Shell, Python, YAML, JavaScript, PowerShell or comparable.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS including CloudFormation, EKS, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CLI.
- Worked in an Agile DevOps environment
- If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
- Experience with Infrastructure Automation using Terraform, Ansible, or other comparable tools.
- Experience with Containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other comparable tools.
- Experience with Automated Testing Integration
- Certified SAFe DevOps Practitioner
- Experience with the operational environments at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
