Position Announcement: Development & Special Events ManagerAnnie Wright Schools seek a Development and Special Events Manager to begin immediately. This full-time position is part of the development department and reports to the Director of Development.

Position Description

The Development and Special Events Manager supports the fundraising and special event functions of the school. Working closely with the Director of Development, the Development and Special Events Manager executes fundraising and engagement events, serves as the primary liaison between school administration and the Annie Wright Schools Parents’ Association (AWSPA), Gator Gala Planning Committee and other volunteers in our school community, and supports the overall philanthropy strategy of the institution.
The Manager ensures that events reflect the mission, vision and strategic plan of Annie Wright Schools. Volunteer management and relationship building are an important component of this role and an ability to connect, motivate and inspire is critical.
Position Overview: Core Duties and Responsibilities
The Development & Special Events Manager:
  • Manages logistics for fundraising and engagement events including Family Night and Gator Gala, Alumni Weekend and other community events throughout the year;
  • Provides management over key volunteer groups, primarily the AWSPA and auction planning committees;
  • Stewards volunteers with an emphasis on relationship and community building;
  • Supports the Director of Development in the execution of Gators Give and All In For Annie annual giving campaigns;
  • Receives and processes inquiries and updates submitted by alumni;
  • Moderates social media pages for alumni and current families in partnership with the Director of Development and Marketing & Communications Director;
  • Utilizes and helps maintain database software and tools to ensure data health and accuracy;
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned and reports to the Director of Development.

Qualifications
The Development and Special Events Manager will demonstrate key elements of the listed expertise and experiences. This is an aspirational list and Annie Wright Schools encourages candidates to apply who may not currently possess, but are working on building, all of these qualities. The Development and Special Events Manager:
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree;
  • Has at least two years experience working in fundraising, special events and volunteer management;
  • Demonstrates an understanding of both Microsoft and Google suite tools; donor databases (Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred), experience with fundraising and auction software (Raiser’s Edge and Greater Giving preferred) a plus.
  • Is a strong communicator verbally and in writing;
  • Is an innovative and flexible problem solver;
  • Is detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously;
  • Is eligible to work in the United States.
