Destination Services Consultant

IOR’s Destination Services Consultants (DSCs) are contract employees, retained by IOR to assist assignees/families who are relocating with the myriad of details involved in settling into their new lives. Our clients/customers include families or individuals who are moving domestically within the US or Canada or internationally into the US and Canada and represent many cultures and native languages.

The goal is to ease the transition for each customer or family within the allotted program time authorized by our clients. Typical programs allow for 1-5 days of assistance for relocating employees. Program time is spread out over several weeks to a few months. While each individual or family’s needs are different, it is the contract DSC’s responsibility to complete our programs within these time constraints.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Destination Services may include:

Rental Home findings, including assistance with leases & move-in condition reports

School selection and registration

Social Security (SIN in Canada) card support

Assistance with obtaining driver’s license

Assistance with opening a bank account

Confirming medical care hospitals, Urgent Care options

Describing various shopping options (Grocery, clothes, home goods, etc)

Describe Recreation options

Community orientation, area tour

Assistance with setting up utilities

Departure Support

QUALIFICATIONS

IOR seeks Destination Services Consultants who:

Have a positive attitude

Are flexible with regard to hours and schedule changes

Are responsible and responsive

Don’t necessarily have all of the answers but are resourceful enough to find them

Having cultural competence to treat all clients with professionalism and respect

Are fluent in English (knowledge of the local language as well is definitely an advantage).

Have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

Have basic computer skills with internet access

Must have weekday availability

Are enthusiastic ambassadors to their town/city

This is not full employment. Destination Services Consultants are independent contractors who work on a part-time, as-needed basis.
