THE ROLE

We are looking for an accomplished creative management lead to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency within the Marketing division. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations, you will be responsible for the detailed day-to-day traffic flow of large volumes of projects, monitoring the movement of all jobs through the creative development process; updating project and team member schedules as required. The Design Studio Manager has a strong understanding of design and the creative environment, fluency in workflow processes and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Outstanding organizational ability, keen attention to detail and flexibility are also essential. The Design Studio Manager is a multi-tasker, a highly-organized professional, positive, versatile, self-motivated and confident juggling a high volume of projects. Both a team player and a team leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Trafficking work through the design studio from concept through production for both print and digital deliverables.
  • Experience with and understanding of design for print and digital communications.
  • Management of projects via WorkFront project management software, inclusive of resource management, scheduling of individual tasks within projects, assigning work to specific resources, tracking work status and milestones, managing company-wide traffic and optimizing workflow.
  • Onboard and train new team members into Workfront in order to support divisional workflows and processes; participate in regular employee reviews and check-ins
  • Maintain global project management software vendor relationship (currently Adobe WorkFront) from daily troubleshooting with helpdesk to billing and contract renewals
  • Manage client expectations on schedules and timing and creative queue management balance workflow in particular with the addition of Proposals and Business Development Support projects frequently on unexpected and tight deadlines.
  • Review creative briefs for accuracy and gather basic assets (images, copy, reference projects etc.) to help launch projects
  • Ability to streamline and enhance processes to ensure effective workflow, analysis and reporting.
  • Create and maintain deadline-oriented schedules and maintain a daily production status reports.
  • Foresee scheduling conflicts and take quick action when schedules get compressed or delayed, will need to creatively manage schedules and resources as well as collaborate closely with all team members.
  • Support the Head of Design Studio with feedback for other team members and lead the creative meetings in HoDS absence.
  • Work with the HoDS to integrate the designers formerly part of the Proposal Dept to breakdown divisions in roles over the next 12 months.
  • Track freelance budgets, invoices and responsible for procurement of purchase orders (POs) for freelance consultants.
  • Attends project meetings and leads daily standups, as necessary.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of professional experience in related field
  • Proven success at managing/building creative teams
  • Experience with Workfront or related project management SaaS
  • Knowledge of workflow management software essential: such as FileMaker Pro, Basecamp, Smartsheets, Percolate, Trello, Monday, etc.
  • Familiarity with digital processes as well as printing processes and techniques
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
