Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a Technical Specialist with a Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) Master Black Belt certification to join our team at Navistar! In this role, you'll work in the Product Development group and facilitate the continued deployment of Design for Six Sigma across the organization. You'll be responsible to develop internal DFSS curriculum and training courses, teach engineers the DFSS tools and methods, evaluate projects, and coach and mentor DFSS Black Belts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop strategic plan for DFSS deployment- Create the curriculum for the Navistar Black Belt and Green Belt DFSS program
- Design, plan, organize, or direct DFSS orientation and training programs for employees
- Conduct training courses for employees at multiple facility and remote locations
- Present information with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures
- Identify maximum value added projects and approve them for DFSS implementation
- Present project value and status to senior leadership
- Coach and mentor DFSS Black and Green belts through the completion of their projects
- Provide expert guidance to resolve any technical issues within the execution of the DFSS projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 15 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies
- At least 2 years of lead experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies
- At least 2 years of lead experience
- PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 9 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies
- At least 2 years of lead experience
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
- DFSS Master Black Belt Certification
- Curriculum and training materials development
- Training instructor experience
- Coaching and mentoring of DFSS Black Belts
- Experience in an automotive or similar product development industry
- HIGH sense of urgency
