DESIGN CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a liaison between design, sales, construction, and homeowners during the construction process.
  • Create a start package to include all information for the client’s new home (plot, pool, interior and exterior personal selections, landscaping, etc.).
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients over a one to two-day period assisting in all optional selections on their home.
  • Review selected and available options with homeowners and explain standards and upgrades.
  • Follow Design Center procedures for customer appointments and complete all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Corresponding and communicating with the client during the construction of their new home.
  • Be familiar with all home plans and elevations.
  • Work with the Design Team to maintain samples in the Design Center.
  • Inspect the job site to ensure the client’s personal options are installed correctly.
  • Implement any change orders requested by the client during the construction phase of the home.
  • Communicate directly with the Construction Manager during the construction of the client’s home.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • Five plus years’ experience in residential homebuilding environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Interior Design preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Proven design experience with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Strategic thinker, problem analysis, and solving for customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and a sense of urgency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • General sedentary work requiring the use of office equipment such as computers, copiers, printers, scanners, and telephones.
  • Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, grasping, writing, typing, repetitive motions, hearing ability, visual acuity, and climbing stairs on occasion.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Some driving may be required.
