Delivery Driver/Warehouse

Must have good communication skills and good customer service. Need to have a strong work ethic, be a fast learner, and a team player. This job is physically demanding, so no previous injuries and you need to be be physically able to keep up with the nature of the job. There is a lot of lifting, bending, and moving involved. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible to perform a variety of specific duties, both within the store and outside locations, under general supervision of the store manager and / or assistant manager. General duties include unloading of merchandise trucks. Maintains cleanliness and order in the warehouse at all times. Assures timely execution of moving merchandise to the sales floor. Ensures proper maintenance of all company vehicles and provides for daily inspections and record keeping and any required repairs.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities:

• Secure and maintains the company issued tools.
• Cleans and maintains showroom, office areas, rest rooms, front and back of the store, windows, light fixtures, walls, floor, carpet, dumpster area and furniture.
• Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment; notifies management concerning repairs.
• Cleans, checks and tests merchandise before loading.
• Learns and complies with the company's loss prevention program by working in a safe manner, identifies, reports and resolves unsafe conditions that may result in property damage or personal injury. This includes driver training and proper use and maintenance of all company vehicles.
• Loads and unloads merchandise. Un-boxes merchandise. Sets up, displays, cleans, touches-up, repairs, refurbishes, and tests/checks returned products and services merchandise as needed.

*Handles merchandise with proper use of a dolly, shipping blankets and tie-downs to secure the merchandise.

• uses a dolly to safely move merchandise; maintains vehicle security and ensures that the customer is completely satisfied.
• performs service calls and repairs.
• Uses STOREnet to schedule daily deliveries
• Makes pre-delivery and post-delivery phone calls to customers
• Opens and close the store in the absence of the store manager and assistant store manager.
• Assists in store inventory audits and ensures proper tagging of all items, including returns and exchanged items

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

• Valid, clean drivers license-eligible to be DOT certified to operate a box truck if required.
• Ability to read maps, shipping / packing documents and assembly instructions.

*Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management and personnel by telephone or through written communication; assimilate information and make decisions. *Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Effective time management skills. *Mechanical ability to install and service home appliance, electronics, upholstery, and case goods.

• Ability to physically and safely lift up to 100 lbs. or lift 200 lbs. with a dolly or assistance of another person without injury or damage to the merchandise.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, stand, walk, and climb.

Work indoors in a controlled environment and in an open warehouse subject to various weather conditions. Work outdoors subject to various weather.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
