Deli Worker/Prep Cook

We are a local deli & cafe located in Baldwin Hills.

We are looking for a prep cook &/or deli worker to help our team balance excellent customer service and excellent food. As a family business, we pride ourselves on both.

You will be a part of a small team so we need someone that is a reliable team player and works well under high pressure. The ideal candidate will be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables and other items for our sandwich lines
• Prepare custom sandwiches and salads for our customers
• Undertake basic cooking duties
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Skills

• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
• Ability to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
• A team player with good communication skills

Requirements: Food Handler Certificate

Job Type: Full Time

Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00am - 3pm; these hours are non-negotiable - hours can be flexible starting at 9am and ending at 5pm on some days

Pay: starting at $18/hr + tips

Benefits: full time employees are offered health insurance (including dental and vision) after 6 months
