Job Description

Alpine Food Distributing, Inc. is looking for a new member for its IT Team. Working with business intelligence tools and enterprise database applications is central to this role with a leader in food products distribution and logistics. Since we are a small IT shop there is opportunity to let your technical creativity shine as we meet our current needs and develop our IT operation for tomorrow. A strong aptitude and experience in database analysis, business intelligence tools with a good dose of general IT operations awareness will go far in filling this role. Job Title: Database/Business Intelligence Analyst Reports to: IT Manager
Department: Information Technology FLSA: Exempt Position Information: Maintains, designs and supports databases and business intelligence for various business purposes. Interacts with stakeholders to identify key performance indicators, and other requirements for turning raw data into actionable information. Works with stakeholders, IT team members and vendors on the support and development of business applications and related databases. Designs BI reports and dashboards that are accurate, reliable, and understandable by users. Supports other IT related processes as needed.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Develops key performance indicators for company and individual departments
  • Collaborate with management and users to identify priorities
  • Oversees EDI process and related activities to insure effective data sharing with business partners
  • Develops effective business intelligence dashboards and reports
  • Perform data analysis based on user needs and requirements
  • Develops and prepare business intelligence that is accurate, reliable, and understandable to end users.
  • Maintains an understanding of the operation and data organization of enterprise applications.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of Data Analysis experience
  • 3+ years of experience writing SQL queries and use of ETL tools
  • 3+ years of experience with enterprise applications and related databases
  • Experience with BI tools for Reporting and Dashboarding
  • Experience with the use and development of data warehouses
  • Strong business process experience
  • Experience presenting data effectively

  • Webfocus business intelligence tools
  • Cleo Clarify and VL Trader
  • SQL Server Management Studio

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands, fingers, handle or feel; reach with both arms and hands, talk and hear

  • *Work Environment/Physical Demands: This job operates in an office environment. Requires standing, bending, sitting, repetitive use hands/fingers. Sitting for long periods of time, with standing work station as an option. Supervision:
  • This position has no direct Supervisory responsibility.
  • This position receives Supervision depending upon the assignment. In some cases, Supervisor outlines steps involved in completing assignments or standard procedures are available to enable the employee to work in a routine fashion. The end results of this work are sometimes checked.
