Salus University is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Full Time Database Manager for our Institutional Advancement Department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Database Manager will combine database management, data entry, gift processing, information management, prospect research, data analysis and technology skills with the ability to train fundraising staff on database usage. This position will also support Institutional Advancement (IA) Team with administrative tasks such as mailings, scheduling, phone calls and is an integral part of Salus University’s ability to successfully grow revenues from contributions, sponsorships and partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Database Manager will be responsible for Supporting the Vice President of Institutional Advancement in producing key fundraising reports every quarter for Board and IA Committee meetings. This individual will also be responsible for providing database management for RE NXT, including maintenance of database, data clean-up, monitoring of functionality and configuration, and management of backup/recovery and updates. They will also be responsible for preparing complex database queries, exports, imports, custom and canned reports to support department needs, including preparing event and gift reports. Another responsibility of this individual will be to update weekly fundraising dashboards and donor updates, work with the Institutional Advancement team to set up and maintain current and future online giving opportunities via Raiser's Edge, as well as working with the Institutional Advancement team with other projects including special events. The Database Manager will also be responsible for assisting in developing written policies and procedures for processing and data management as well as provide database training on policies and procedures to staff and other departments as needed. The Database Manager will also serve as the main point of contact and Blackbaud liaison for all database issues and questions, and determine solutions and strategies, and work to case resolution. They will also assess and troubleshoot department- related database issues. This individual will also create, manage, and troubleshoot accounts, roles, and privileges for staff users as well as assess and troubleshoot department-related database issues. In addition, they will be responsible for regularly review, update, and clean up database, including record duplicates, fundraising category options, NCOA updates, etc., to maximize efficiency of data entry and reporting as well as proactively identify on-going technology needs to implement process improvements. The Database Manager will also be assisting with fundraisers with prospect management as it relates to the database and also assess and ensure accuracy, security and integrity of fundraising donor database, including oversight and implementation of data entry standards and best practices. They will be responsible for creating appropriate mailing lists for various communications throughout the year. Pull both physical mailing lists and email mailing lists. This individual will work with outside vendors (Blackbaud, Give Smart, CVent, etc.) in all areas related to fundraising technology. They will also conduct prospect research as needed and serve as the primary liaison with any outsourced researchers. The Database Manager will process online updates, including integration with GiveSmart, ensure form acknowledgement letters are all updated and uploaded for easy use in Raiser's Edge, and supervise daily data entry of gifts and process gifts made online. Finally, the Database Manager will supply Finance with monthly revenue reports and assist Finance with yearly audit.
Knowledge, Education and Experience Required:
Undergraduate degree
A minimum of three to five years of experience directly related to the job
Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and RE NXT
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with customary office software (Microsoft Office Suite)
