Job Description

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund
seek a Data Programs Manager to serve as a programs liaison between the Data, Analytics, and Research Team (DART) and program and affiliate staff to provide strategic guidance, audience segmentation, and analytics to program owners. This role will work across departments and organizations in the progressive space to help drive data and strategy for Planned Parenthood proactive and defensive campaigns.
This is a cycle position set to end on 1/31/2023.
Purpose
    • Utilizes systems for tracking and reporting organizing, electoral, engagement, and political data, and providing impactful guidance and synthesis to program owners.
    • Communicates sophisticated data analysis through oral and written reports, creative visualization, and tracking documents.
    • Develops and provides program KPIs and analyzes ongoing performance.
    • Works with internal and external staff to establish best practices and standards for data collection, acquisition and preservation.
Delivery
    • Manipulates voter, membership, volunteer, and other person level data.
    • Provides data, targeting and technological guidance on issue and electoral campaigns.
    • Translates, implements, and and strategizes around Planned Parenthood and vendor-supplied models for affiliate and national programs
    • Tracks and manages storage of relevant research, including research conducted by other departments or partner organizations where appropriate.
    • Provides strategic audience segmentation to program owners to assist with ongoing campaigns, including providing guidance on changes to targeting best practices
    • Provides critical program context for polling and research agendas.
    • Analyzes current and relevant trends in field program and ongoing campaigns to adjust audiences and tactics in real-time.
Engagement
    • Develops strong relationships with Campaigns team staff, Organizing staff, and affiliate leadership to execute on critical campaign goals and build strategy.
    • Assists PPFA staff and affiliates in developing data processes to accurately measure progress toward organizing goals.
    • Provides data driven strategic guidance on best tactics to achieve goals to organizing leadership.
    • Acts as the subject matter expert on related campaigns with research and analytics staff.
    • Proactively stays current on data management and organizing best practices through partners and vendors, including the Analyst Institute, Catalist, and other organizations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience
    • High attention to detail and strong organization ability
    • Proven experience providing end-user support and customer service
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
    • Flexibility to learn new skills and adapt to changing technology
    • Excellent leadership and project management skills
    • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Planned Parenthood
    • Non-profit or campaign data management experience
    • Excellent understanding of and prior experience with using data to support a political or advocacy campaign
    • 1 or more cycles of experience on a political or issue campaign
    • Comprehensive knowledge of organizing and electoral data management systems, including VAN and Catalist
    • Advanced Excel fluency
    • Customer service and partnership orientation
    • Experience with community organizing programs
Travel
    • 1-10% domestic
Starting salary; $75K

Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program.
