Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will use their enthusiasm and strong data modeling skills to assist the Program Manager on the following:- Experience in working with federal customers, understanding their business needs, and translate into building data strategies, build data flows, and conceptual data models.
- Experience in working with developers, creating logical and physical data models to support new and legacy systems and ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.
- Support building a data governance process as it relates to data quality, information management, metadata management etc.
- Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
- Experience in designing dashboards, support creation of a database ecosystem that captures space system attributes and enable digital engineering workflows.
- Attend technical exchange meetings with the customer and create documentation of linkages between workflows, data, analytical models, and artifacts.
- Provide guidance to System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
- Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance.
- Examine new application design and recommend corrections if required.
- Strong experience in back end/database design experience with complex data structures and databases using MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostGres, NoSQL (MongoDB, elastic search etc.).
- Programming experience in Java, SQL, Python, XML, JSON, etc.
- Experience in working with distribution platforms like Horton works, MapR etc.
- Experience in designing and deploying solutions in Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud etc.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Database administration and optimization (preferred).
- Experience in advanced data analytics, predictive analytics using rendering tools like Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
- Experience in agile software development and software designing and architecture.
- Position requires BS/BA in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of experience OR a MS/MA degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience
