About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Management Analyst who will report into the Enterprise Metadata and Lineage organization, executing responsibilities supporting enterprise level metadata, data lineage and data flow across all data domains in the bank. The team's mission is to deliver enterprise governance and management through curation services, user driven capabilities and enablement offerings to grow and mature an enterprise data catalog. The result of which will allow impact analysis, source tracing and optimization, risk mitigation assessment and more, using metadata as a competitive advantage to best serve Wells Fargo customers' financial needs.

This position requires experience in data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis to serve as a foundation to basic concepts and terms. Exposure to enterprise scale data governance tools and processes is also advantageous. This position will collaborate and partner with constituents across the department and broadly with application teams, report teams, data domain partners and subject matter experts from other governance groups. A successful candidate will have a bias for action, strong attention to detail, focus on risk management and possess a continuous improvement mindset.

In this role, you will:
  • Deliver metadata and/ or data lineage and flow services to fulfill enterprise data management policy and procedure
  • Complete the collection of metadata and/or data lineage in alignment with enterprise templates and standards
  • Document technical specifications and processes to a high level of accuracy
  • Extrapolate from enterprise data management tools to use available metadata to further enrich business and technical metadata
  • Validate metadata and data lineage quality through automated tools and standard controls to ensure data integrity and consistency
  • Manage project team of stakeholders and SMEs to successfully drive through metadata processes, manage risks and address remediation and action plans.
  • Perform maintenance tasks to ensure metadata accuracy and completeness
  • Balance multiple projects at one time, some of which would require the management of competing priorities
  • Communicate and present project objective, approach and results to varied audiences in order to gain buy-in, demonstrate progress or synthesize outcomes and observations
  • Contribute to the development of enterprise metadata processes, tooling and change management plans
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 2+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Experience using data management and governance tools (i.e., Ab Initio, Collibra, Alation, Informatica)
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of risk and regulatory reporting
  • Experience with risk and control concepts
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of data integrity management practices and procedures
  • Experience developing and monitoring compliance with policy and standards, specifically around metadata
  • Experience with process design or improvement experience
