Job Description
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in SQL
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience using big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Spark, etc.).
The Customer Service Call Center Management team is looking to hire Data Engineers building and scaling systems for one of the world’s largest customer service networks. You will own and evolve data pipeline that helps deliver the highest quality and reliable contact experience for world-class Customer Service. This is a high visibility role where you will have opportunity to influence and shape the way Amazon Customers engage with different customer service systems.

The Call Center Management team is responsible for building technologies enabling Customer Service to handle and route customer contacts worldwide. As a Data Engineer on this team, you will collaborate with other experienced and senior data engineers to drive improvements to our data lake, design and develop new dashboards, and build and track metrics to ensure high quality results.
Successful candidates should come from a data engineering background. You need to have experience with structured data, and being able to analyze/transform the data using various tools. Although SQL is a strong requirement, being flexible enough to work in a scripting environment is necessary. Often, the pace of innovation and change implies a need to move to new data sources, and our Data Engineers get to participate in deep diving business data in order to understand/measure sources of disparity. Your analytical skills and knowledge of schema metadata will be essential.

  • Masters in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or other quantitative fields.
  • Experience working with AWS big data technologies (EMR, Redshift, Kinesis and DynamoDB).
  • Proven success in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and educating other engineers for best practices on data engineering.
