Title: Data Business Analyst - DBA2022-0011
Location: Chicago, IL, but working remote

Job Description:

  • The client is looking for a passionate certified Data Analyst.
  • Data analyst will develop analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Data analyst will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

Data Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques.
  • Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Previous experience with pension administration and/or auditing of financial data required.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex projects, ability to work effectively with team members and senior leaders under tight deadlines.
  • The ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing, including the use of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Experience implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadline.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 1-3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Fund's pension software.
  • High level of proficiency in relevant computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.

Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e., computers, phones, and photocopiers).
