Location: Chicago, IL, but working remote
Job Description:
- The client is looking for a passionate certified Data Analyst.
- Data analyst will develop analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Data analyst will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
Data Analyst responsibilities include:
- Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques.
- Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Requirements and skills:
- Proven working experience as a Data Analyst.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- Previous experience with pension administration and/or auditing of financial data required.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex projects, ability to work effectively with team members and senior leaders under tight deadlines.
- The ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing, including the use of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Experience implementing corrective actions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadline.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 1-3 years of experience.
- Knowledge and experience with the Fund's pension software.
- High level of proficiency in relevant computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
Environment:
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
