POSITION OVERVIEW:Assist Business Intelligence Office team in the Architecture and Management of Zelis’ Data Warehouse assets and serve as the primary Data Architect for all related projects and tasks. The Zelis Data Architect will communicate and work collaboratively with internal application developers, database administrators and project stakeholders for project work, supporting existing data needs and contribute to resolution of major incidents. As a Data Architect, you’ll be a key member of a dynamic team of IT professionals responsible for the design and implementation of databases for Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. In this role, you will develop the strategies for Data Warehouse implementations, as well as, the acquisition and manipulation of data by optimizing SQL queries. Additionally, you will provide solutions for accessing data for analytical purposes by researching, assessing, and utilizing a myriad of tools to enable reporting and data analysis functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create data models and define the structure and attributes of data elements.
• Develop data warehouse schemas and data marts derived from various internal and external data sources that support reporting requirements for business partners.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions to interpret business needs from conceptual models into logical and physical data models.
• Assist in the creation of data models and data record layouts to facilitate integration and data exchange with external partners, vendors and regulatory agencies’ applications and systems.
• Spearhead the introduction and adoption of new technologies as they apply to data warehousing architecture and methodologies.
• Develop and deploy data warehouse and business intelligence solutions including Tabular Models and cloud-based architecture that include design considerations for reporting and ETL processing.
• Assist team members in reviewing and optimizing SQL queries used in enterprise applications and systems.
• Support database administrators in troubleshooting performance issues and assist in optimizing database performance.
• Work directly with business units to provide analytical support and report creation, with the goal of developing solutions to empower end-users to gain insight into their business.
• Responsible for documenting databases, processes and design configurations.
• Manage essential projects within planned timelines.
• Provide second-tier DevOps support to help resolve database related system outages.
• Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another four-year degree with significant IS experience or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience delivering Data Warehouse solutions
• 7+ years in Microsoft technology – SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS
• 4+ years in relational and multi-dimensional data modeling
