OptumRx is looking for a self-motivated individual with comprehensive data analyst experience to solve complex Business problems. The pharmacy care services sector in the US is undergoing tremendous change. With that comes plenty of opportunity. Our aim is to find a person who can strategically leverage the latest Data Analytics tools and technologies as we move our existing processes to the Cloud. The ideal candidate is a Senior level technical resource with a diverse background in Automation and creating Reports & Metrics with a proven ability at quickly standardizing and consolidating into a reportable data solution which is endorsed by a solid commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams. The role will be in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for deliverables to the OptumRx Core PBM Service team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or assist in the development and maintenance of analytic projects and reporting to support the business
  • Anticipate, design, and measure solutions to facilitate the business and clinical needs of the organization including qualitative and quantitative reporting and analysis
  • Migration of existing data transformation processes and reporting initiatives from current SAS/Netezza architecture to the Cloud
  • Write code, and leverage tools, to transform data to incorporate business logic as defined in conjunction with various business stakeholders using Cloud architecture
  • Validation of source data and interpretation of report results
  • Interact with internal customers to effectively design, implement, operationalize, and document reporting that accurately captures business requirements
  • Implement process improvement initiatives and automation for efficiency along with maintaining and refining existing reports, analytical models, and database queries
  • Interface with the Clinical Analytics Team and the IT Department regarding business needs and requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of working with large complex databases
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL queries
  • 1+ years of SAS programming experience
  • 1+ years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of PowerBI experience
  • Experience tying data requirements to business objectives and communicating results to both technical and business audiences
  • Hands-on knowledge of Big Data, Analytics Spark & Databricks, PL/SQL and Oracle database, and open-source software language experience using Python and R
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and keep the team informed on project work, provide backup support training for the team, and provide backup support for other members on the team
  • Experience with healthcare or pharmacy claim data
  • Demonstrated ability to self-direct and problem solve
  • Demonstrated solid presentation and communication skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $71,400 to $127,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
