Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

KMS Solutions is seeking, for immediate hire, motivated individuals to join our Integrated Cyber Security team to
provide Support Services to the Program Executive Office (PEO) Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS), and Undersea

Systems (PEO-IWS 5.0) at the Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard in Washington DC.

Job Overview & Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Engineers develop strategy, vision, and direction to align systems with organization cybersecurity
initiatives and regulatory compliance related to attacks on combat system software, infrastructure, and
networks. They assist the Navy protect computer and networking systems from potential hackers and cyberattacks. They safeguard sensitive Navy data and processing from cyber-related attempts to infiltrate, exfiltrate,
modify, or crash mission-critical databases and combat-related processing capabilities.

The Cybersecurity Engineer participates in analysis of USW advancements to help senior colleagues and leaders
determine how cyber-related protection strategies need to evolve considering hardware and software
advancements in USW systems. Knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide Cyber leadership to establish a vision
and direction for IWS 5.0 (OV-SPP-002 or OV-EXL-001 as laid out in NIST.SP.800.181)

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a cybersecurity related discipline or related technical area.
  • Two years of related experience in cyber security including computer programming, software design,

cyber security (defensive or offensive), cyber forensics, and/or IT systems.

  • Experience in cyber, including computer programming, software design, cybersecurity (defensive or

offensive), and cyber forensics.

  • SECRET level DoD Clearance

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in information technology or cybersecurity.
  • 10 or more years relevant experience in Cybersecurity or IT Systems.
  • Familiarity with US Navy Undersea Weapons systems

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the
supervisor. The employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and
must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.

Travel
Up to 10% travel may be required.
