As a Banfield veterinary technician, you will work alongside pet health care industry experts to make a difference in the lives of the pets and clients we serve. Responsibilities as a Surgery CVT:

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Take a lead role with surgeries and procedures in accordance with Oregon’s Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Optimum Wellness Plan® options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems, including Banfield’s database, PetWare, designed to obtain data for population research.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized OR and treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Banfield Pet Hospital West Linn is a stand alone hospital looking to hire a Veterinary Technician who will primarily work with our DVMs and Veterinary Assistants to efficiently and safely run surgical procedures. The Veterinary Technician is a vital part of our hospital team and is highly utilized in our setting. Our hospital has five amazing Veterinarians with an approach that emphasizes preventative care, surgery, and dentistry. We are seeking a candidate who is willing to adopt our five principles: quality, responsibility, mutuality, efficiency and freedom. We are a team of motivated individuals who thrive on delivering outstanding client and pet experiences and are looking for a CVT who feels the same!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Veterinary Technician Certification or License (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) preferred (but not required), valid CVT credentials in Oregon, or pending credentials within 3-6 months
  • Candidates who do not possess Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure, but have relevant experience with a strong desire to become licensed within 2-3 years, are encouraged to apply. Tuition Assistance for the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program is available for qualified candidates.
  • Ability to assist in animal restraint, lift up to 40 lbs., and work on your feet all day
