Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Customer Service team in Salem, VA. As a Customer Service Specialist, working as a member of a team, you will provide frontline support for Intact’s customers, including insureds, agents/brokers and field staff, coordinating the resolution of issues and problems raised.

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Customer Service team in Salem, VA. As a Customer Service Specialist, working as a member of a team, you will provide frontline support for Intact’s customers, including insureds, agents/brokers and field staff, coordinating the resolution of issues and problems raised.
Responsibilities
- Fields both phone calls and written correspondence (including e-mail) from agents, insureds and field office personnel.
- Responds to Billing inquiries
- including analysis of balances
- preparation of payment/premium histories as needed
- take appropriate action within defined guidelines to satisfactorily resolve issues, i.e., waive fees, amend installments, adjust minimum dues, etc
- Provides Loss Runs, copies of policies, copies of billing documents as requested.
- Report to supervisor/manager any customer issues received identifying a breakdown in service, including the specific areas within the Commercial Customer Service Center and extending to Operations and Underwriting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs.
- Must have communication and customer service skills in addition to analytical, decision making, problem-solving, organizational and negotiation skills.
- High school diploma required with Associates degree preferred.
- 1-3 years customer service experience required; 1-3 years P&C insurance background, Commercial Lines preferred
