Job Description

The ComplianceSigns.com Customer Care Representative fosters an excellent customer service experience while increasing our customers’ average lifetime value and grows revenue. The Customer Service Representative handles inquiries, quote requests, and purchase orders with an accommodating and informative attitude while delivering a “WOW” experience for every customer.

Job Summary: To manage assigned accounts and directly service customers in support of our company vision to be our customers’ favorite supplier. The Sales Representative handles inquiries, quote requests, and purchase orders with an attitude that is both accommodating and informative and looks for every opportunity to bring the customer into the process, creating a “WOW” experience for everyone we do business with.

Essential Functions:

  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers by going beyond the standard expectations of the customer service industry
  • Identify and assess customers' needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Manage incoming orders, quote requests, and other inquiries via phone, fax, e-mail, Web, and EDI
  • Prepare customer credits, return authorizations, and order corrections for processing
  • Prepare product quotations quickly and accurately
  • Increase sales by following up on leads in a timely manner
  • Keep an open line of communication with customers
  • Act as a general liaison between the customer and the company, communicating all critical information, along with providing vital input and feedback to various departments within the company
  • Navigate internal systems to find information pertaining to orders, parts, shipments, quotes, etc.
  • Determine work methods and assign priority to tasks to independently achieve assigned objectives
  • Maintain good working knowledge of company operations and open lines of communication with other departments to meet the needs of the customer
  • Work in an energetic team environment and communicate with coworkers in an effective and respectful manner
  • Act quickly when errors occur to correct mistakes and ease customers’ burden
  • Follow through on all assignments and commitments, regularly reporting status to Customer Service Manager, if applicable, and always keeping customers aware of any changes or pertinent details
  • Engage in daily learning and training for personal and professional growth and development
  • Continuously communicate successes, needs, and challenges to Customer Service Manager
  • Work independently and with teammates to meet challenges head on

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Data entry duties such as entering customer and account data from source documents within time limits
  • Verifying order detail accuracy and ensuring information is accurate when performing data entry duties
  • Report all unsafe activities to Plant Manager, Safety Director or Human Resources
  • Be punctual and dependable – arrive on time to maximize availability to our customers by being accountable for your assigned work shift
  • Adhere to company policies regarding the use of personal phones, headphones, use of the internet, and other company property during your work shift
  • Take direction from and communicate respectfully with others regardless of age, gender, race or religion
  • Attend department and company meetings, and participate in proactive team efforts to meet goals
  • Comply with all safety and environmental rules, regulations, and guidelines, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements, when applicable
  • Perform general housekeeping; keep work areas clean and free of debris
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to perform essential duties while sitting at workstation
  • Ability to perform such actions as typing, reading, and reaching continuously throughout shift
  • Ability to prioritize and process documents on a regular basis, with consistent exposure to a computer and telephone

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Good reading, spelling and comprehension skills
  • Good phone, computer, and internet skills
  • Must be able to learn and operate software
  • Good typing skills
  • Must demonstrate a high attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and work well with others
  • Contribute to a positive and energetic working environment
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters

Required Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma and 1-2 years of related experience
