The major objective of this position is to convert customer orders (verbal, written, or EDI) into the order entry system with the proper ship date based on customer needs, planning parameters and manufacturing's ability to support and follow the customer orders through to delivery.

The major objective of this position is to convert customer orders (verbal, written, or EDI) into the order entry system with the proper ship date based on customer needs, planning parameters and manufacturing's ability to support and follow the customer orders through to delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Convert customer order into the order entry system with the proper ship date based on customer demands and manufacturing capabilities.
- Analyze production, freight capabilities and customer inventory requirements to establish ship dates. Coordinate transportation to the customer.
- Facilitate as needed between material supply, production and shipping to ensure orders are produced and delivered in time to the customer.
- Analyze and resolve EDI errors to ensure customer orders can be placed in due time.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare forecast in units for monthly volumes review meeting. Determine customer line rates and penetrations. Maintain a history of units and ratios.
- Maintain order entry data base by customer by location. Process all necessary on line maintenance to keep the data base current.
- Establish a rapport with customers and instill confidence in them of Asheville's capabilities and quality. Give immediate attention to any customer problem or situation. Insure shipments are made as to when the customer expects them. Work with customer to establish common goals including but not limited to customer visits and maintaining effective lines of communication.
- Ensure compliance to Standards of Business Conduct through familiarity with related policies and procedures.
Qualification:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in assembly production or other aspects of material management such as scheduling or purchasing is preferred. Must be familiar with production practices.
- Knowledge of Oracle and or an on line real time order entry systems preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Power Point, Outlook with Advanced Excel/Access skill set) required
