POSITION SUMMARY:

SICK is looking to grow the customer project management team for our machine safety services, vision applications, and integration services business segments. This position works closely with the sales team creating and managing project proposals to align customer needs and SICK scope of work. The team heavily interacts with sales, distribution, application engineering, project execution, operations, and customer service, as well as internal and external customers. This position is involved with all aspects of customer projects from the point of sales opportunity identification, to customer order acceptance. This is a creative, problem-solving position that writes proposals and guides opportunities through to commercial and operational success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilization and overall responsible for the SICK CPM processes. Allowing effective management and reporting on customer projects that exist at SICK and to provide transparency for CPM process until the closing of the project.
  • Partner with the sales channels through the proposal process, providing pricing analysis and guidelines as well as technical solutions that fit the needs of the customer.
  • Communicate in writing the commercial solution for project scope; including installation planning with project or other project-specific special requirements to fulfill the project scope.
  • Develop templates and tools to be utilized by the sales team to support project scope definition, project hand-over, and the CPM process.
  • Maintain project data, project status, and perform calculations pertaining to customer projects assigned. Prepare detailed and summary reports pertaining to customer projects and the Technical Services team.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines/functions in the company to manage work packages necessary to fulfill the identified scope of projects. This includes, but is not limited to, legal reviews of terms and conditions and controlling functions of the project budgets.
  • Stay up to date on industry advancements and competitors’ offerings as well as customer history to better assist in the guidance of the pre-sales customer project management process phases.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness.
  • Daily, this position requires people to complete tasks and be accountable for their deadlines, while also collaborating with a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales Operations, Technical Writing or Entrepreneurship preferred
  • 2-7 years of technology business experience
  • Sales proposal creation experience preferred but not required

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to work directly with customers and provide solutions
  • Strong collaboration, writing, attention to detail, and oral communication skills are required.
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task multiple simultaneous projects in a busy sales and engineering environment is needed
  • Experience and familiarity with CRM, Office, and ERP systems is helpful. Systems use is required daily.
  • Experience with technical sales, sales operations, marketing operations or technical writing is a plus
  • Technical aptitude and a general understanding of Industry 4.0 is necessary
  • This position requires creative problem-solving skills and operational excellence on a daily basis
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications is required
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States
