Custodian - Evenings At Multiple Locations

Start Date: As soon as possible after hire.

Description: Maintain a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and the community. There will be assigned areas of the buildings to clean, but all of the custodians are expected to help with event coverage or setups, and help each other as needed.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED, two years custodial experience, and Medic First Aid Card. Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment used in the custodial field. Possess high moral standards and character necessary for association with students. Ability to: (1) read, write and speak the English language; (2) work independently; (3) follow oral and written instructions; (4) complete minor maintenance tasks; (5) perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.; (6) work with minimal supervision; and (7) develop and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, employees, students, and public. Employment contingent upon fingerprinting. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon hire.

Qualifications Desired: Good communication skills. Knowledge of carpet care, hard floor care, and restroom care. Ability to learn skills needed to perform the job.

Classification/Location: Classified, Regular, Full-Time Position

Calendar/Benefits: 8 hours per shift (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm); 260 days per year.

$15.97 - $17.72 per hour (Range 8 of the 2021-22 Classified Salary Schedule, current staff consult the contract).
