Overview of position:
Summary:
Responsible for the daily supervision of CT technical staff and patient care. Provides guidance and direction in regards to policy interpretation and application. Maintains adequate department supplies. Supervises technical aspects of the department in regards to service and programs. Functions as CT Technologist as needed.
Essential Duties:
Responsibilities:
1. Supervises technical staff on a daily basis, delegating appropriate responsibilities and assuring diagnostic quality of exams. 2. Schedules technologists on a daily and monthly basis, assuring proper coverage in all areas. Adjusts staffing as needed for adequate coverage in relation to volume and procedure type. 3. Analyzes and resolves work related problems, refers unresolved situations to appropriate manager. 4. Functions as a liaison between radiologists, hospital staff, referring physicians and department staff concerning CT procedures and related patient care. 5. Assists in department administrative tasks such as completion of weekly time keeping/payroll sheets, employee performance evaluations, compiling work statistics and other management functions as needed 6. Effectively uses computer systems (such as HIS, RIS, PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information. 7. Assumes role of CT Technologist as needed. 8. Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families. 9. Participates in clinical training of radiology students by providing instruction, supervision and evaluation as required. 10. Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required. 11. Performs other functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

1. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) in the appropriate specialty (CT) and licensed by the State of Ohio in Radiology. 2. Five years experience as a CT technologist required. 3. Ability to provide quality patient care in a professional manner. 4. Competence in all CT diagnostic & interventional procedures performed at this facility. 5. Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. 6. Demonstrated excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills. 7. Demonstrated leadership abilities to direct staff and manage daily work flow. 8. Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. 9. Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment. 10. Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to electronic imaging and clinical information management. 11. CPR Certified
