Job Description
Overview: Daifuku Cleanroom Automation America Corporation (CRUS), the North American affiliate of Daifuku Japan Co., Ltd. and a dynamic high-tech company specializing in automated material handling systems, is currently seeking a Project Manager 1 in our Installation Department.
Under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager 1 (PM 1) has overall responsibility for small-scale installation projects. PM 1 is responsible for providing job site supervision of installation resources (Subcontractors and Daifuku employees) to complete installation and upgrade of CRUS AMHS equipment in a timely manner, safely and on budget. PM 1 is required to manage project cost and report costs to the executive management team. PM 1 must follow designated installation procedures and safety guidelines established for work areas. This position is required to work overtime, weekends and holidays and travel as often as needed.Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and oversee all installation resources (contractors and Daifuku employees)
  • Manage selection, orientation, training, evaluation and task assignment of personnel
  • Responsible for managing project cost and reporting project costs to executive management team
  • Communicate and report the project status both to the customer and internal CRUS functions
  • Maintain and initiate direct contact with customers through daily and weekly on-site meetings to assure customer satisfactions
  • Coordinate materials and parts delivered to the site
  • Participate actively in site safety and compliant with safety protocol
  • Create, implement and monitor all manpower shift/backfill planning to compliant with installation contracts and Scope of Work requirements
  • Assist Engineering Dept. in the development of necessary installation jigs and methods
  • Follow all safety and protocol guidelines and report unsafe conditions
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage project team, budgets and schedule
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to the changes
  • Must be able to identify problems and come up with solutions
  • Must be able to work under pressure of customer and complete tasks under tight time frame
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Required to follow and understand work rules, procedures and safety guidelines
  • Required to travel as often needed (Domestic and International)
  • Must conform at all times to customer’s safety and cleanliness policies to maintain a safe and clean work environment
