Job Summary
The Credit-LC Analyst is primarily responsible for handling the Company’s export letters-of-credit (LC, LOC) portfolios and customer credit risk management activities. The position will report to the Treasury Director, Global Credit and is located in Santa Clara, CA but we are open to the right candidate working remotely from anywhere in the US. This is a high-profile position, in a dynamic group, which will offer the opportunity for exposure to other Treasury activities and high personal growth.
This position requires an individual with in-depth knowledge of export Letters of Credit technical terms and conditions under the UCP 600 latest version, and the ability to analyze financial balance sheet, income, and cashflow statements. Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are a must. Proficient in SAP, Tableau, PowerPoint, Excel is a plus.
Candidates must be detail oriented and have a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member in a highly fast-pace environment. Quality and accuracy of the work product is paramount. The position requires interaction with all levels of staff and management as well as the external banking and third-party provider community. This position will be “hands on” with no direct reports. Candidates will have a background/education in Business or Finance, preferably Certified Documentary Credit Specialists and relevant industry experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Letters of Credit Management
- Handle export letters of credit end-to-end process from sales contract/LC draft review to shipment to cash collections
- Enforce corporate standard LC terms and procedures for optimal risk management and control (balance risk-reward)
- Review sales contract’s terms and provide LC requirements feedback to Sales, Legal and Finance to incorporate into sales contract and customer deal negotiation
- Partner with Sales, Order Management, Legal, Finance to resolve LC issues and remove shipment-revenue obstacles
- Assemble LC shipping documents from business units and present documents to bank for payment
- Assist in executing LC discounting transactions with bank
- Maintain and update LC Tracker, LC policy/procedures and bank agreements
- Manage relationship with LC bank and third-party provider
- Provide periodic LC training to functional stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Legal, Order Management
Customer Credit Management
- Perform daily sales order credit releases in SAP
- Review, approve payment terms in customer master records
- Assist in various credit management activities including customer’s financial risk assessment and recommendation, AR/LC metric reporting and analysis, audit and SOX
- Support new business integrations and SAP implementations
- Support other Treasury, Finance or Company-wide initiatives as required
