Job Description
JDA TSG has immediate opportunities for experienced Tax Preparation Professionals CPA/EA/Practicing Attorney to support customers utilizing Turbo Tax products. This is a seasonal opportunity beginning in Late February & running through the end of April 2021. You will be supporting customers in both assisting them prepare their own returns &/or fully preparing customer tax returns. The ideal candidate will have a background in business, finance, accounting, or tax. Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts & familiarity with form 1040 & schedules is expected. An active PTIN is required for the role as well as several years of 1040 preparation experience. In this position you will be providing expert guidance & explanations of tax & technical terms to our customers. You will also play a meaningful role in our efforts to delight our customers & empowering them to prepare their taxes. A typical week would involve approx. 25-30 hours of work assisting customer in preparing & filing their Tax returns utilizing Turbo Tax Live. You must be living in the U.S. or a U.S. Territory to be eligible for these positions. Locations: All positions are remote.Required Skills & Experience:

- 5 + years of experience preparing federal & state individual 1040 tax returns for clients/customers, using commercial tax preparation software
- An active unrestricted credential: EA, CPA or Practicing Attorney with tax preparation experience & extensive knowledge of tax laws is preferred
- Must possess or be able to obtain any related State licenses, certificates, permits or bonds
- Active PTIN
- 3+ years of recent experience
- History processing 50+ tax returns per tax year required. Prior tax preparation experience in a tax practice or retail setting
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Audit experience a plus (IRS & state tax authorities)
- Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations & software
- A dedicated hardwired internet connection
- Ability to work within a team to assist in preparation of accurate tax returns in a timely manner
- Strong customer service skills
- Comfortable interacting professionally with customers through video
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Critical thinking, problem solving, research skills & determination
- This is a seasonal, virtual, customer-facing role; you will be using a state-of-the-art video communication software (SmartLook) to interact with customers
- Help TurboTax customers who are working on their tax return with 1) Tax advice, including return preparation & signature when required; 2) Product/software inquiries, & 3) Tax calculations
- Create high quality customer interactions & experiences that instill confidence using deep customer empathy, & your deep knowledge & expertise in the field of tax preparation
- Compiling/preparing tax returns for TurboTax Customers
- Gathering/organizing & accurately entering customer data in the federal & state tax returns for review Communicate directly with the customer as needed
- Coordinate customer meetings & follow-up
- Will help customers who are working on their tax return with both product/software inquiries, as well as with tax questions & calculations
- Apply defined practices, procedures & company policies to troubleshoot & resolve product & tax support customer inquiries
- Utilize & leverage government websites, professional resources, & team expertise to seek out & deliver the right answer to the customer using everyday language
