PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Counsel to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located in our Company headquarters in Parsippany, NJ.

The Counsel will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Commercial and Refining (the “AGC, Commercial and Refining”), and will assist with respect to commercial legal matters, matters relating to the support of refining operations of the Delaware Valley Refinery Complex located in New Jersey and Delaware, litigation matters, records retention and other support, as required.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In furtherance of the foregoing, the Counsel, Commercial & Refining will:

• Prepare or review, as directed, contracts, purchase agreements, leases and other legal instruments to safeguard the company’s interests Perform research and prepare and draft necessary legal documents and correspondence
• Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams including operations, credit, and compliance to achieve the best possible outcome for the company
• Support the needs of the Legal Department and perform other duties as assigned

Candidates should have an inquisitive nature with a specific interest in energy and regulatory law, and should demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Solid research skills with an ability to read critically and identify and solve problems
• Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and prioritize assignments
• Practical, commercial and solution-oriented problem solving approach
• Ability to exercise sound judgment to identify risks and convey advice
• Ability to interact confidently and respectfully with peers as well as more junior or senior team members
• Ability to maintain the highest degree of ethics and the ability to preserve absolute confidentiality
• A team player with a positive attitude and desire to learn and expand skill set
• Willingness to travel as needed (< 25% of time)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• J.D. Degree required
• Licensed to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction and willing to register in New Jersey as Authorized In-House Counsel
• Approximately 1-5 years of commercial or transactional experience working in a corporate or law firm environment required. Procurement and regulatory experience a plus
