Job Description


Turner & Townsend
are seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to join our rapidly growing Data Center construction team. The Cost Analyst will look after the client’s Work Breakdown Structure, building out how the GC costs out a data center. The Cost Analyst will also be responsible for data management, analytics and dashboard reporting development for our technology client’s large-scale data center construction program.


Job Objectives:


  • Look at all elements of construction and build it into a work structure to price it out and conduct analysis with the client.
  • Manage historical cost databases by analyzing and reporting unit costs, budgets, commitments, and invoices in an electronic cost database.
  • Conduct background research, data collection and benchmarking against historical system data.
  • Undertaking deep dive analysis of live data to identify outliers, trends, and calculate key performance measures.
  • Collaborate well and help resolve issues working with cross-functional teams to align processes and reconcile data.
  • Develop and maintain databases and reporting dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain data models and governance processes.
  • Technical build out of Tableau (or similar products) dashboards.
  • Presentation to clients and internal teams of developed dashboards.
  • Coordinate and prepare presentation material.
  • Mentor regional personnel and clients.
  • Present high-level metrics in a simple, accessible way.

Qualifications


  • The ideal candidate will have construction experience or cost reporting experience on large-scale data center construction projects.
  • BA/BS and/or post-graduate college degree.
  • 3+ years of cost analysis experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite of applications.
  • Experience in Excel and Access Databases.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera 6 and Oracle Contract Manager.
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries and methodology to report data to project teams.
  • Experience with client specific systems.
  • Experience with background business applications (Oracle) and data analysis platforms (Tableau).
  • Experience working with General Contractors and suppliers to produce historical cost details.
  • Experience with E-Builder or other construction management tools.
  • Experience with project management functions like cost, schedule and risk management.
  • Experience in data centers, networking, cloud industry or related field.
  • Ability to coordinate & organize multiple sources of performance data.
  • Ability to build data models to support required analysis and reporting.
  • Vision and design flare to translate data to best practice data visualization.
  • Openness and interest to learn new data analysis & reporting.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships within different client cultures and across multiple project teams.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be a team player.
  • Drive to be proactive and self-motivated.
  • Advanced presentation skills and ability to thrive in a client-facing role.
