Job Description
Strategic Investments (SI) supports the firm's businesses and corporate functions in making strategically impactful investments. The role of the SI team is to collaborate with the sponsoring LOB to identify, diligence, structure, negotiate, close, monitor and divest investments. The Business Management team provides support to the business driving key initatives, developing content and enhancing processes.

The SI Business Management Associate will partner with Investment Professionals, Finance, Legal, Valuation Control Group (VCG), Compliance and Principal Risk to support the business. Key activities include participating in the analytics and preparation of the valuations and portfolio management presentations across all portfolio companies, producing key management reports, on-boarding new strategic investments and proactively looking for opportunities to streamline processes. The Associate will also assist in maintaining a strong risk and control environment by participating in the Control & Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) processes, annual Sponsor Attestation process, and ensuring key procedures are consistently understood and followed by the team, with documents updated and maintained as necessary. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities

    • Provide a high standard of business management support to the Strategic Investments team
    • Produce management reporting for SI senior management as well as business reviews with JPMC LOB sponsors (including Balance Sheet, P&L, pipeline, performance metrics, etc.)
    • Participate in the analytics and the preparation of the valuations and portfolio management presentations across all portfolio companies
    • Manage weekly team meeting agenda and content
    • Assist in curating market intelligence to keep the team abreast of FinTech trends and areas of focus for key competitors and co-investors
    • Identify areas for potential automation opportunities, plan and implement solutions
    • Assist with Board seat appointment controls and tracking
    • Coordinate with Principal Risk, Oversight & Controls, Valuations Control Group and other business managers to drive the team agenda
    • Assist with annual CORE (Controls & Operational Risk Evaluation) process including inherent risk identification and ratings, and control identification and testing
    • Assist with annual Sponsor Attestation process and other control processes
    • Develop ad-hoc analyses and deep dive reviews for senior management as necessary

Qualifications:

    • 5-7 years Finance and/or Business Management experience
    • Excellent MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
    • Comfortable liaising with business managers and controllers, as well as leveraging existing relationships and networks within JPMC F&BM where possible
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment and work with senior and junior members of the team
    • Self-starter, highly organized, intellectually curious with strong technical, problem solving, and project management skills
    • Detail oriented and results-driven
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Interest in principal investing
