We are seeking Corporate Counsel to join our team in Irving, TX, Alpharetta, GA Scottsdale, AZ, or The Woodlands, TX.

Position Description

McKesson's well-regarded General Counsel Organization is seeking an experienced healthcare transactional lawyer to serve as the attorney overseeing all aspects of McKesson's manufacturer relationship segment, which includes all domestic sourcing and drug distribution contracting with brand manufacturers, and oversight of other related small businesses. McKesson supplies pharmaceuticals and other healthcare-related services and technology products to a wide range of retail and institutional pharmacy customers. Our nation-wide network of distribution centers supplies medication to 1/3 of all health care providers in the United States, and we frequently invest in technology and other systems to enhance the safety and reliability of our core distribution services and technology offerings. McKesson's relationship with its suppliers is a key component to the success of its business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees routine day-to-day legal support for the manufacturer customer segment, including legal support for contract drafting, review, negotiation and strategy for our largest and most strategic manufacturers partners.
  • Provides health care regulatory advice (AKS, Stark Law, FCA, 340B, Ad/Prom, Privacy, CMS and state rules and regulations) related to arrangements with pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacies.
  • Knowledgeable regarding government healthcare programs and reimbursement requirements.
  • Provides business unit oversight for the sourcing side of our full line pharmaceutical drug distribution business, and various other services offerings to providers and manufacturers.
  • Serves as the key legal advisor to business unit leadership on a wide array of topics relating to the manufacturer segment needs, including legal risk mitigation, manufacturer relationship management, and strategic initiatives and compliance programs; and
  • Frequent interactions with other internal legal, compliance, and business stakeholders across functional groups.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills
  • 4+ years of corporate law experience
  • Law firm experience combined with in-house experience, preferred.
  • Excellent experience in commercial contract drafting, analysis, and negotiation skills a must.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with senior executives.
  • Ability to manage high volume of contracts, and multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to use MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Teams required.

Additional Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellentinterpersonal skills with an ability to provide sound, clear legal advice to all levels within the company.
  • Ability to work closely with, facilitate interactions within, and influence large cross-functional teams (including representatives from other areas of the General Counsel Organization regulatory and compliance professionals, sales professionals, and operations managers).
  • Excellent business judgement and strategic thinking.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with internal clients and other members of the legal team, in a collegial, fast-paced team environment.
  • Highly responsive, proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field

Juris Doctor Degree with excellent academic credentials (Member of a jurisdiction is required)
