Copywriter

We’re looking for a Copywriter to join our entrepreneurial, creative Communications team. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Communications, in this role, you’ll have the opportunity to support, reinforce and extend the reach of CEX.IO’s brand voice with a variety of internal and external audiences.

CEX.IO is one of the first decentralized finance ecosystems to allow customers to purchase crypto with a credit or debit card. With over 4 million registered users globally, we have a spectrum of products and services for investors of all experience levels - from the “crypto curious” beginner, to the “crypto serious” professional trader. We are a regulated entity that’s operational globally, and in 48 states across the U.S.

This position is fully remote!

Main Responsibilities:

• Under the leadership of the Brand Team, support the enterprise roll-out, training and governance of CEX.IO’s brand voice, ensuring consistency across all internal and external touch points—including, but not limited to website, email, social media platforms, internal comms and HR brand, compliance and public relations.
• Develop a full range of content to bring all aspects of the brand to life, ranging from landing page copy, email, blog and social media content to internal, employer brand and compliance communications.
• With the guidance of the Head of Communications, provide support in the formalization and launch of an enterprise crisis communications plan, as well as front-line content development for issues requiring internal/external communications comprising a variety of stakeholder audiences
• Work collaboratively in a highly cross-functional environment to ideate and develop engaging content for all online and offline marketing assets.
• Support global PR program with development and approval of proactive media commentary, responses to written interview requests submitted to CEX.IO spokespeople, and drafting of longer-form thought leadership pieces that will attract media interest.
• Provide proofreading services to fellow Communications and Marketing team members as needed.
• Demonstrate complete mastery over grammatical rules and conventions, and manage periodic updates to CEX.IO’s written style guide.
• Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners including, but not limited to the CEX.IO board, larger Marketing organizational stakeholders, Product, HR and Compliance teams, as well as external agencies and vendors.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a copywriter, preferably in FinTech or crypto.
• A self-starter with an energetic, proactive attitude and a passion for authentic, engaging storytelling.
• Experience working with external branding or PR agencies is a plus.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; extremely organized with acute attention to detail.
• Experience with developing content for many mediums, platforms and audiences.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects successfully, without sacrificing quality.
• Superior knowledge of grammar and spelling, with laser-sharp attention to detail.
• Performs well under pressure and effectively handles tight deadlines, revisions, ad hoc requests, and changing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to collaborate heavily with key internal and external stakeholders while managing multiple projects.
• Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
• BA in English, journalism,marketing, communications or related fields is a plus.
