Job Overview:

The Copy Manager will lead a team of copywriters and has oversight for the creation of editorial, site content and advertising for specific families of business, including seasonal campaigns, catalogs and look books, Search Engine Optimization guides, emails and digital media. The Copy Manager must possess and train direct reports on exceptional conceptual storytelling and the ability to partner with Art Directors, Fashion Office, and site merchandising/Buying teams. The Copy Manager must have a keen understanding of the way people shop today, can think big picture while maintaining a laser-focused eye on the details.


Essential Functions:

  • Produce compelling marketing copy, including single banner ads to large-scale marketing campaigns and conceptualize seasonal campaigns for a specific family of business.
  • Develop and manage team of mid- to senior-level copywriters to help them grow their skills and further their professional development. Ensure consistency and adherence to Bloomingdale’s copy and legal standards.
  • Partner with the SEO manager to create best-in-class SEO guides that increase site traffic

Qualifications and Competencies:


Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university

5+ years related experience


  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing
  • Occasionally requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing and talking
  • Continuous use of computers and other office equipment
