SCHEDULE: Full-time

Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. County-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.

SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), SHIFT: Monday - Friday, Days

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary responsibility is assisting the Sepsis Coordinator and clinical outcomes team with the evaluation/redaction of patient charts and data to ensure that all Sepsis Early Goal Directed Therapy requirements are being met. Enters data into excel spreadsheets and analyses for compliance in meeting all components of the sepsis bundles. Works with the Sepsis Coordinator to identify gaps and identify needs for improvement of process. In collaboration with the Sepsis Coordinator develops patient education and teaching materials as needed for the improvement of sepsis outcomes. It is also understood that the job description is not all-inclusive and you may be required to perform other related duties.

Qualifications

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: CA RN License, BLS Certificate.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: 5 years nursing experience in acute care, critical care and/or ED.Preferred: Critical Care or related clinical experience.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: BS in Nursing or ADN with ICU or ER experience required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, educational process skills, computer literate with in-depth knowledge, experience to operate word processing, data bases, graphics, and spreadsheets in order to generate reports. Experience with Meditech, Excel, Word and patient care management systems. Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, follow instructions and maintain a high level of professional conduct.
