:

Oversees, leads and supports colleague Workers Compensation safety initiatives across; Saint Francis, Mt. Sinai and Johnson Memorial. Team lead for ;improving colleague WC safety practices, developing programs and training required to support and initiate colleague safety, health and wellness initiatives. Assures compliance with regulations specific to Worker's Compensation and Joint Commission as they apply to the Hartford market. Works closely with internal safety representatives to further champion a safe work place. Plans and helps define & implement policies, procedures, or systems to prevent the lost workdays and reduce work related injuries. Analyzes risk exposure or potential liability, and develops with safety group appropriate risk control measures.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full time 40hrs Mon-Fri days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Exceptional Patient Care: Serve as support to Gatekeepers activity by following up on all workers compensation claims in real-time to ascertain incident causation, need for immediate corrective action(s).

  • Excellent Communicator: Plans and helps define & implement policies, procedures, or systems to prevent the lost workdays and reduce work related injuries.

  • Strong Educator: Analyze monthly loss reports & Post Accident Investigations reports and share data in the key initiatives to leadership group and safety committee

  • Technical Familiarity: Responsible for accuracy and upkeep of OSHA Logs for assigned hospital and associated entities.

  • Active Teamwork: Performs ergonomic assessments of colleague workstations. Works closely with internal safety groups / leads and System office risk control support team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, physical therapy, business management, loss prevention and or Workers Compensation claims or other health-related field.

  • CT RN or OT / PT license or hold a valid CT WC Adjuster License.

  • Certified Health Care Safety Professional Certification preferred or must be obtained within 12 months of securing position.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience healthcare or insurance in similar role desired.

  • Colleague Safety experience is required. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience conducting independent project analysis work specifically with comprehensive colleague safety initiative is required.

  • Previous loss prevention and /or ergonomic experience are desired.

  • Knowledge of OSHA record keeping and reporting required.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various work sites on a regular basis.
