Job Description

Responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of health services for all students who attend St Coletta Day School in Braintree, MA.- In conjunctions with Program Director, hires, orients and supervises Nurse and provides on-going work schedule Plans and implements health service policiesWorks with Attorneys and families/guardians to ensure compliance with guardianships and Rogers paperworkNotifies and requests permission in writing from guardians regarding medication changes as ordered by the school psychiatristCollaborates with other departments to ensure promotion and maintenance of good health for the student populationAttends I.E.P.s, and Progress Reviews as dictated by the situationAssures compliance with Department of Education and Department of Public Health RegulationsDevelops and manages an annual budget for Health ServicesEstablished protocols for the treatment of acutely ill students, emergency treatment and procedures and notification of appropriate personnel.Coordinates health services to provide optimal physical and dental health for all studentsEstablishes procedures for safe administration of medicationDevelops and supervises individual health maintenance programs for all studentsProvides ongoing medical instruction for all child-oriented staff in accordance with licensing agenciesEstablishes health policies relating to personnelEstablishes policies, in accordance with D.P.H. recommendations, on communicable diseasesMaintains accurate health records on all studentsOrders supplies and oversees proper maintenance of equipmentUpholds the mission and corporate values of Cardinal Cushing Centers.Regular attendance an promptly reporting to work at the beginning of the scheduled shift are essential functions of this positionAssumes additional responsibilities as assignedAdheres to the Cardinal Cushing Code of Professional Standards and Behavior. Provides training for staff in regards to CPR, First Aid, Epi Pen and Medication Administration Related work ExperienceA minimum of 3 years of experience in direct service positionSupervisory and management experience in clinical settingFormal EducationMust be a graduate of an N.L.N. approved school of nursingCertification as a Registered NurseMust be currently registered to practice nursing in the state of MassachusettsA valid drivers licenseCertifications: Receive initial certification and re- certification as appropriate in the following: - CPR- Safety Care- Medication Administration by DPH Skills/Abilities/CompetenciesGood nursing and assessment skillsAbility to be flexible with hoursGood interpersonal skillsGood management skillsMust be organized and efficient
