Job Description
Overview: This position supports the company in all of our international inbound shipments into US & Canada for our distribution centers, 3PL’s and direct to customer (DC bypass). This role is responsible for the shipments once vessel sails to arrival at destination facility - managing exceptions with advance shipping notices (ASN’s), on time shipment arrival, expediting shipments in jeopardy and resolving issues at destination (trucking, customs release). As such, this is a key role in our supply chain that requires proactive and aligned communication with our purchasing, distribution and sales operations functions. Auditing and processing freight and brokerage estimates and invoices are also central to the role. The ability to collaborate successfully with various internal and external teams is crucial. The FILA brand is growing and the supply chain is dynamic in our changing global sourcing footprint. Coupled with the updates in international shipping, this is a position that seeks an energetic, systems savvy, and results-oriented individual. - Accountable for inbound production shipments from factory to US & Canada distribution sites and direct to customers, including sales samples and marketing promotional events
- Exception management of ASN’s within our ERP in order to provide supply chain visibility (purchase line and order line level). Close partnership with Purchasing and I/T required.
- Create freight estimates on shipments at beginning of life cycle within ERP
- Update shipments daily within ERP for real time goods in transit visibility (upload in transit level file)
- Resolve customs holds, document issues, and contacting drayage/truckers as needed for successful delivery
- Resolve receiving issues tied to incorrect ASN’s and vendor compliance issues
- Review and process transportation and brokerage invoices in ERP system
- Proactively raise critical issues for communication and resolution across departments and third party vendors
- Follow up and resolve inbound international parcel shipping issues
- Continuous communication with external and internal parties in the supply chain: freight forwarder, customs broker, warehouse and purchasing, customer care, distribution, finance
- Provide backup to the department / team as needed
- Consistently seek opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiencies and cost savings
- Attend training classes/seminars to keep current with shipping regulations
- 2+ year’s previous experience in International Logistics, Import/Export, Customs Compliance required
- Proficiency in Excel
- Must be able to problem solve, multi-task and work independently
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Team player with a positive attitude and a sense of urgency
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience in Microsoft D365 and Power BI a plus
- Bachelor’s degree a plus
