Job Description
Who are we hiring?
The Communications Coordinator is a core member of the Corporate Communications team, providing support for a broad range of communications activities related to the Company’s corporate strategy and key initiatives. The Coordinator reports to the VP Communications and works closely with the SVP and Senior Director of Communications. Specifically, this position supports the team on research and timely creation of materials for high-profile projects including Company announcements, financial communications, MSG Sphere, and public media events. In this role, the Coordinator liaises with groups across the department and throughout the Company. For media events, the Coordinator provides project management support, including managing RSVP lists, securing vendors, preparing event materials, tracking project progress across departments, and other assignments, as needed. The Coordinator is responsible for conducting research to support media campaigns, providing detailed and thoughtful analysis to help shape outreach, and creating segmented media contact lists. The Coordinator is also responsible for tracking campaign progress by capturing all media placements and other measurable metrics that can be used to compile comprehensive coverage reports. The Coordinator is proactive in ensuring that various materials including corporate websites, boilerplates, and executive bios remain up-to-date. The position also maintains and updates key departmental materials, such as media contact lists, statement databases, and budget trackers. The Coordinator’s responsibilities also include handling certain administrative duties such as managing vendor relationships/invoicing and, on occasion, providing backup to the department’s Executive Assistant. This position also works with the VP to oversee the Corporate Communications Student Associate, including onboarding, training, and managing the Student Associate throughout the program.

What will you do?
- Plays a central role with team-wide exposure through a combination of project management responsibilities and media relations support, as well as compiling department’s weekly report
- Supports drafting various communications materials including briefing documents, bios, media analysis, LinkedIn posts, media alerts, etc.
- Assists in the execution of media announcements and events, including preparing media lists, compiling coverage reports, and maintaining measurable metrics
- Takes lead on team organizational documents such as meeting agendas, planning documents, and project timelines
- Maintains the accuracy of various corporate materials, such as boilerplates, bios, photos, etc.
- Provides event planning support for external media events
- Works with members of the media as needed and directed
- Supports team in efforts to work more efficiently and improve organization
- Maintains confidentiality around non-public announcements and projects
- Monitors media for relevant coverage as it relates to Corporate initiatives
- Stays up to date on industry trends and makes recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies and practices
- Monitors industry news, including the identification of potential timely opportunities
- Serves as a liaison with external agencies
- Provides administrative support to the Corporate Communications team and occasional backup to the Communications department Executive Assistant
- Oversees invoicing and vendors for Corporate Communications team and tracks spend to budget

- Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years’ work experience, including internships
- Proficient in Microsoft suite (i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with WordPress, and PR tools (e.g., Muck Rack and Meltwater) a plus
