Posting SummaryRutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Coordinator Building Services for the Graduate School of Education- Dean’s Office. Reporting to the Sr. Director Finance & Administration and under general direction, the position manages space related logistical arrangements and serves as a contact for those who use the facilities for classes, exhibits, lectures, conferences, and other events.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Oversees general building maintenance serving as a liaison with Facilities, opening and closing of the buildings, building and office access, and maintaining accurate building and office signage.
- Leads and coordinates preparation of space for new faculty/staff hires and execution of office moves, including initiation and coordination of activities with University partners in these processes.
- Serves as a public safety liaison to ensure appropriate utilization of security measures to protect the buildings, their contents, and to notify occupants of any public safety related issues.
- Responsible for daily sorting of mail and package delivery to recipients.
- Performs daily maintenance on shared GSE copiers, including paper replenishment, toner replacement, supply order, etc. Aids faculty and staff with parking related matters and works with individual and event visitors to secure campus parking.
- Manages bottled water process, including ordering, inventory, replacement of bottles, and vendor engagement.
- Ensures adequate PPE supply and timely, effective deployment/distribution.
- Performs related duties as required.

- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in facility management.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer literate with experience in word processing.
- Ability to recognize and evaluate maintenance problems, security issues, and support copier equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Position is full-time and must be performed on-site.
- Physical demands are those typical of an office environment.
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours, and to travel between Rutgers-New Brunswick locations if necessary.
- This position requires full-time presence on-site at GSE facilities.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
